Swanton Care and Community has been crowned ‘Complex Care Provider of the Year’ at the prestigious Health Investor Awards 2016.

Swanton collected the high profile industry gong at an awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, in central London last night.

Swanton were praised for their innovative care pathways and their ambitious plans to address the national shortage of high quality ABI/neuro rehabilitation services.

Alison Rose-Quirie, CEO of Swanton Care and Community, collected the award in front of 1,200 leading figures from the independent healthcare sector.

Alison said she was honoured to receive the accolade and thanked all the team involved in the delivery of complex care services.

She said: “I am delighted that Swanton have won this award and would like to thank all of our hard working team for ensuring that we continue to innovate and provide the best possible personalised care to people with complex and challenging needs.

“We know that there is a gap in current care provision that means patients are forced to stay in acute hospitals much longer than they need to.

“Our service, Eden View, in Cambridgeshire, is an excellent example of the level of care that can be provided in the community with the right staff, the right training, the right culture and working in partnership with the NHS.

“We want to expand upon this success and make sure there are more services that offer a pathway for people to move out of acute hospital, through targeted rehabilitation and then back home.”
