Two housemates from West Wales had a ‘wild time’ when they celebrated their birthdays last week at a local animal farm.

Matthew May and Jenny Griffiths spent their big day at Folly Farm visiting the animals and getting up close and personal with the local giraffes.

Jenny, who was celebrating her 33rd birthday, said she had a great day out.

She said: “We had such a brilliant time; it was so much fun. Both Matthew and I loved feeding the giraffes, although you have to get very close to those long tongues to give them the food!”

Matthew, who turned 34, loved his special day with the animals, so much so that he is determined to go back soon.

Both Matthew and Jenny live at Dan Y Graig residential care service in
Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire.

Service Manager Fiona Bush said that they wanted to plan a special day for Jenny and Matthew, and she knew Folly Farm would be a big hit.

She said: “It was such a magical trip out, the joy on their faces when they were feeding those big giraffes was just wonderful. They were much braver than I was!

“Both Jenny and Matthew have lived with us at Dan Y Graig for a number of years now and they really help make it a truly special place to live.”
