A Norwich care home for people living with a range of complex neurological conditions is opening its doors to the public to celebrate Care Home Open Day.

The nationwide event sees thousands of care homes across the UK welcome in members of the local community to better understand the care that is provided.

To mark the day the team at Gryphon Place, in Sprowston, are holding a BBQ and party in the grounds of the home and are inviting all of the local community to join the fun.

Gryphon Place Manager Araceli Serrano said she hoped many members of the local community would support the open day.

She said: “Care Home Open Day is a great opportunity for people across the country to get a better sense of the wonderful care that services such as our provide for people who lead challenging lives.

“We really feel part of the community up here in Sprowston and we want the community to feel part of our everyday life too.

“Fingers crossed the sun shines and lots of people drop in to join the fun, meet the residents and have some delicious food.”

The celebrations will also include live music and the opportunity to meet staff and the people who use the service.

The event, on June 28, kicks off at 12 midday and runs until 4pm. For more information go to swantoncare.com or carehomeopenday.org.uk
