Team Dan Y Graig served up a treat for Halloween this year, by hosting a delightfully ghoulish party for five homes.

Staff and the people they support at neighbouring Cartref Croeso, Glangarnant, Maesteilo and Sudbury homes arrived for a fun-filled event, complete with spooky games and fiendishly delicious food.

Visitors enjoyed apple bobbing, Halloween games and a best-dressed competition. Gareth Jackman from Sudbury and Julie Porter from Maestelio were crowned Best Dressed Male and Female respectively, while Cartref Croeso and Glangarnant were voted the Best Dressed Homes.

Manager Fiona Bush said that the people supported at Dan Y Graig and her staff worked hard to get the home ready for the bash and to ensure a good time was had by all.

Fiona said: “It was a real team effort – everyone had a lot of fun putting this event together.

“From our spooky staircase to ghostly doorway with freshly carved pumpkins, the whole place looked fantastic.

“We want to say a big thank you to the homes that joined us on the night. No matter how many tricks were played, it was a treat to host you all!”

A raffle with prizes donated by local businesses helped boost the fundraising coffers, as Dan Y Graig and the other homes raised money for Swanton Care’s charity of the year, Happy Days.

Together they raised an impressive £230 for the charity, which hosts funded days out for children living with complex needs.

Fiona said: “What’s great is that we can do something good for this wonderful charity while making sure the people we support have lots of fun.

“Socialising together with the other homes and making memories really boosts the wellbeing of the people supported by all five places.

“We hope the money we raised will help more children get to enjoy experiences they’ll remember forever.”
