Seaham View’s Warren Snowball has been inspired to become a storyteller after reading about other people supported by Swanton on our website.

The creative 22-year-old decided to plan and complete a special day out after being impressed by accounts of what his peers at other Swanton services have been getting up to.

Warren’s day began at St. Mary’s Church in Sunderland town centre, where he explored the holy building and lit a candle. From there, he stopped off at shop Lush, where he selected a bath bomb as part of his regular self-care and relaxation routine.

At lunchtime, Warren made a trip to Morrisons, where he picked a pasta salad to eat. As part of his personal development, Warren has been mindful of making healthy choices in his diet, as well as understanding more about nutrition.

In the afternoon, Warren enjoyed a leisurely walk along the beach at Seaham, where he stopped to skim stones along the water. He finished his day out by stopping off at a local barber’s shop to have a new haircut.

According to Seaham View Manager Dhiraj Rijhwani, when Warren arrived home, he wanted to write up his story straight away, so he could submit it to the Swanton website team.

Dhiraj said: “Warren told us he’d had a fantastic day out and got straight to work in putting together his story.

“It was great to see him so enthused after such a busy day, he had posed for loads of pictures at each location and was full of excitement about what he’d achieved.

“For a young man who usually completes a short trip to the local shop when he goes out, Warren’s big day out was a huge achievement – we are so proud of him.”

Warren created a PowerPoint presentation which charted the various stops on his day out, complete with pictures.

The result was so good that we’re fully expecting Warren to take over from us at the web team as the new editor of the Swanton website!
