The people supported at Allt Ioan service in Wales celebrated VE Day with a fun-filled tea party at their home.

Staff enlisted the help of Amy, Amber, Sophie and Daisy, the four girls who live at Allt Ioan, to help get ready for the party.

The girls and the team decorated their dining room with Union Jack paper chains and put matching bunting on the front of the home.

Later, they sat down to enjoy a buffet spread of all their favourite things – including sandwiches, cakes, biscuits, crisps and pizza.

Team Leader Adam Hatto said that it was a day to remember.

Adam said: “It was a fantastic way to celebrate together and the girls loved it.

“They asked us about VE Day and what it meant. Amy, in particular, was really interested as I was telling her the story of what happened at the end of the war.

“She initially thought it was make-believe, so was shocked when I told her that this all really happened.

“It was a good way to mark the occasion and to help the people we support to understand why celebrating VE Day this year was so important.”
