Eden View staff celebrated National Carers Week in style this June with cakes galore.
Service Manager Judy Cable arranged for a scrumptious fresh fruit sponge cake and iced ring cupcakes to be made by local supplier Sophie’s Afternoon Teas.
After an incredibly challenging three months in lockdown, Judy said both she and Swanton Care wanted her team to know how much they appreciate them all and the incredible work they’ve done.
Judy said,” I call my carers ‘my legends’ or ‘my stars’ because that’s what they are.
“During COVID-19, they’ve all worked tirelessly to keep our residents safe, and the dedication and commitment they’ve shown has been amazing.
“Everyone has been so professional – the safety of our residents has been of paramount importance to them all.
“It was nice to celebrate them and to say a big thank you.”
During the lockdown, families who have been unable to visit their loved ones have been sending messages of support to staff.
Judy told us that they’d received many cards and gifts of gratitude for keeping the residents safe and happy during such an unprecedented time.
Judy said: “The families have been very supportive of us all and that’s very much appreciated.
“We made sure that our staff and the residents all got to enjoy the ‘Carers Week’ cakes. Thanks to Sophie Elliott for baking such delicious sweet treats for us.”
