The people supported at Huckleberry House have marked Remembrance Day by creating a fantastic poppy picture to display in their window.
Team Leader Dawn Sutherby got the group together to design and paint the picture using their colourful craft supplies.
Given the current pandemic restrictions, the people supported at Huckleberry House won’t be able to attend the usual Remembrance Day events in Hull.
That’s why Dawn hit upon the idea of doing something themselves to commemorate the brave men and women who’ve lost their lives in combat.
Dawn said: “The people we support absolutely love doing painting and drawing activities – so it was a popular suggestion.
“We wanted to make something simple but vibrant that would look beautiful in the window. Our paper was long so that we could paint a giant poppy at the top and smaller poppies below.
“The people we support were pleased with the results. It’s our way of taking part in Remembrance Day and showing our support.”
This year Remembrance Sunday falls on 15th November where we remember the members of the armed forces who’ve given their lives in the line of duty.
