Support Worker Holly Barker has only been at Swanton’s Stella Maris service for two years, but she’s already been hailed for her ‘transformational’ work.
Dedicated Holly was a lynchpin for her team during the coronavirus pandemic, regularly doing more than her contracted hours and providing colleagues with lifts to work.
Always ready with a smile on her face, Holly provides exceptional person-centred care to the people supported at Stella Maris.
According to Regional Director Rae Kilpatrick, Holly’s positivity and enthusiasm lift team morale on a daily basis.
Rae said: “Holly is such a wonderful person to have on your team because she throws herself into everything with loads of energy.
“The people we support love being around Holly because she’s always finding ways to make their lives happy and to empower them.
“The work she’s done has been transformational for Stella Maris, and we’re excited for Holly’s future with us.”
Having already wowed bosses with her ‘can do’ attitude and diligence, Holly proved she’s multiskilled when the service had to complete a considerable amount of paperwork.
Not only did Holly get stuck in, but she is now working at a level above her current role.
Rae added: “Holly really stepped up for us when there was a massive amount of evidence-based paperwork to complete.
“She worked through it methodically, never complained and helped us meet our objectives.
“There’s no doubt in my mind that she’ll move up the ranks here because Holly’s already working at a Team Leader level and leading shifts.
“Holly is a credit to Swanton and a shining example of what it is to provide person-centred care.”
