Film fans at Seaham View can enjoy box office big hitters from the comfort of their home every week, thanks to their new Friday Night Movie Club.

People supported at the service asked staff if they could make an evening at the home cinema a weekly ritual.

Team Leader Chloe and Support Worker Trudi took the lead in providing the ultimate film experience by devising a movie buffet menu.

Everyone was offered their choice of Friday night treats to accompany the screening, and Support Worker Amanda even modified a McDonalds take-out using the Swanton logo.

According to Chloe, the first official Friday Night Movie Club was a roaring success.

Chloe said: “It’s always exciting to enjoy a night at the movies – and the people we support love it.

“We gave them a choice of films, and Mary Poppins got the most votes. So, we got everyone settled and comfy before unveiling the buffet trolley.

“It was packed with delicious cinema food for us all to enjoy.”

The buffet consisted of hotdogs, burgers, fries, nachos, sweets, popcorn and ice cream.

Each movie club goer was able to pick their favourite food and settle in to watch super nanny Mary Poppins bring magic into the lives of the Banks family.

Chloe added: “Mary Poppins was a terrific choice because it’s so much fun and has fantastic music.

“It was lovely to see the people we support interacting with each other and enjoying the experience of watching the film together.

“Friday Movie Night is a big hit, and it’s now one of the most anticipated activities on our weekly calendar.”
