People supported at Glangarnant enjoyed a day at the races without leaving their home this spring as the team threw a Grand National shindig.

On Saturday 9th April, everyone at the service gathered to enjoy a fun-filled bash, complete with a horse theme.

The room was adorned with horse-racing decorations, including balloons, bunting and horsey art.

Some of the people supported at Glangarnant dressed up as jockeys as the group got ready for the starting pistol to be fired at the big race.

Service Manager Michelle Williams said it was just as good as being at Aintree itself.

Michelle said: “We all love a party at Glangarnant and our Grand National event was top-class.

“Everyone picked a horse, although the betting was all for fun rather than high-stakes.

“We were hoping the winning horse would belong to one of the people we support, but it was one of our team who chose ‘Noble Yeats’.

“But it didn’t dampen our spirits as we partied on long after the winner crossed the finish line.”

The party involved a delicious buffet spread, non-alcoholic drinks and face painting.

Music played, and everyone enjoyed themselves as they spent a happy Saturday socialising together.

Michelle added: “The party atmosphere was great, and it was a lovely excuse to get together and enjoy ourselves.

“If I were a betting woman, I’d say there will be another Glangarnant party on the cards very soon!”
