An outdoor BBQ party proved the perfect way for Seaham View to celebrate its new garden makeover.

Over the past few weeks, the space has been landscaped and now boasts a brand-new driveway and lawn.

The transformation means that the people supported at Seaham View can get outside to enjoy the garden area this summer.

So, they wasted no time by hosting their first BBQ of the summer, which Deputy Manager Chloe Parker said was a great success.

Chloe said: “It was magic to be in our lovely new garden with the BBQ fired up!

“We went all out on the meat selection with chicken skewers, pork joints, sausages and burgers.

“The weather wasn’t on our side, but we didn’t let that spoil our fun – we just got our gazebos up, so the rain didn’t stop play.

“It was brilliant fun and the first of many outdoor parties.”

According to Chloe, the people supported at Seaham View regularly spend time outside.

The garden transformation also includes lighting so the space can be used in the evenings.

Decorative butterflies are also dotted about in the area, where the group likes to play games.

Chloe said: “We have a basketball hoop, a bowling set and a sensory bubble machine that we often play with outside.

“Everyone here enjoys spending plenty of time in the fresh air – and our BBQs are a highlight of the summer for them.

“It’s wonderful to have such a gorgeous new garden to enjoy this year.”
