Meet our team

Anthony Risker

Service Manager

I joined Swanton Care in July 2020 as a deputy manager at the Grove and progressed to service manager in October 2022. During my two years as Deputy manager, I was supported by Swanton Care to gain my level 5 qualification in leadership and management in adult care. I was also provided with the opportunity and training to become a level 3 registered Nappi (Non abusive psychological and physical interventions) trainer and gained a level 3 qualification in implementing positive behaviour support.

My aim is to continue to provide an excellent quality of life for the people we support by delivering person centred care, creating opportunities for people to chase their dreams and live everyday to the fullest and enjoy the lifestyle of their choosing. At the Grove we are committed to the delivery of high-quality support, we encourage family contact and provide regular updates and pictures with emails and calls to families.

I’m proud to say we have a diverse staff team who together create a fun environment and are ready to face all challenges with a smile and an understanding that every moment matters for the people we support, we are committed to supporting personal development and empowering the individual to achieve their goals and maintain and develop independence.

Dhiraj Rijhwani

Divisional Director

I joined Swanton in 2017 as a service manager and worked with the team to expand supported living services as well as manage residential homes. In time, I became regional director for the North-East in 2021, and Divisional Director in 2024. I learned very early on in my career with Swanton that the company is very passionate about the people we support, their homes and enriching their quality of life, which aligns with my own values.

I moved to England from Mumbai, India, in 2005 for education which I continued to do for several years. During this time, I integrated with people from many countries and cultures, and this helped broaden my viewpoints massively. I firmly believe this helped me to embrace diversity and value varied inputs throughout my career, which I have been in since 2006.

I understand that being in a support environment can be difficult. Together, the team and I are here to help in empowering and supporting those in our care to feel safe and live the lives they wish to lead.

About

Wherever possible the people we support are fully involved in the planning of their own positive behaviour support plan, so that they have choice and control over the way that they would like to be supported. Where this is not possible, families have been invited to talk via Teams during training to provide an insight into what’s important to the person, and how best to manage behaviours.

The people we support are also encouraged to deliver part of NAPPI Training (Non-Abusive Psychological and Physical Intervention) to the team, so that they can make the team aware of triggers, and the best approaches to use to support them. This has been successful, with a noticeable reduction of incidents and the people we support feel valued for their contributions.

The Grove – Swanton Care, recently received a ‘Good’ CQC rating for all areas which includes, safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led.
