At Green Rose, we work with people to ascertain what they want and from this, develop a plan to support these people in both their aspirations and needs. The key to supporting people is helping people with a learning disability to have ‘power’ within a relationship and not for Green Rose to have ‘power’ over the individual.
We advocate a voice for the individual in both health and social care requirements. Green Rose put in place support and interventions that will assistant the individual to attain their dreams and to life a meaningful life. We promote inclusion at Green Rose; if individuals have limited skills in this area we will support and guide them to developing and improving their skills.
Autism is a lifelong developmental disability and affects people in different ways. Like all people, autistic people have their own strengths and weaknesses. At Green Rose, we understand that each autistic person is unique and how the person communicates and interacts with the world differs, and we adapt our support practices in nuanced ways to provide bespoke services.
Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) is a rare, complex genetic disorder that affects both males and females from birth and throughout their lives. At Green Rose, we have extensive experience of supporting complexities that come with Prader-Willi syndrome, which helps us design best practice right from the start of us getting involved.
Green Rose recognises that for most people, including people with learning disabilities, their living circumstances are what matters to them.
Supported living might best be thought of not as a single model, but as a range of residential alternatives for people with learning disabilities however central to all alternatives is living in their own home, be it owned or rented.
Through a commitment to empowering people to become fulfilled citizens in their local community, Green Rose will help find a home or housing solution suitable for individual needs which might include making adaptions or using technology to help with daily living.
Green Rose philosophy is about providing a tailor-made housing solution to people with a learning disability in local areas. The aim is to provide small environments, either sharing a home with a small number of other people or living independently.
