In 2023, I became a part of Swanton Care and Community, bringing with me twenty years of expertise in the supported housing and social care field. My journey started in 2003 as a Support Worker, and through dedication and experience, I have progressed to the position of Registered Manager.
Equipped with a QFC 5 in management and leadership, I am a registered professional with Social Care Wales, adhering to their principles in all aspects of my work.
Throughout my journey, I have gained extensive experience in diverse areas such as learning disabilities, complex behavior, Autism, mental health, and homelessness. My passion lies in enhancing the lives of individuals with Autism and learning disabilities through Positive Behavior Support and Person-Centered Planning, with a focus on empowering them to achieve their goals.
I am committed to leading by example and supporting others to transform legislative principles into tangible outcomes. My overarching goal being to identify and nurture the potential within our workforce and the individuals we support, by fostering a culture of growth, positivity, and inclusion.
I joined Swanton Care in September 2006 as a Support Worker at Maesteilo care home, since then I have gradually progressed through to Team Leader, Deputy Manager, Home Manager and most recently to Regional Director of Wales in July 2022. Throughout my time with Swanton Care, they have supported me through my Level 3 and Level 5 management qualification in Health and Social Care.
I have supported people with learning disabilities and autism for over 16 years, the knowledge and skills gained during this time are invaluable and has supported my progression through to my current role. My philosophy is to provide person-centred care that embraces safe and meaningful support for those in our care, encouraging growth and opportunity. I am a strong believer that working together is best, and working in partnership with the people we support brings more positive and meaningful outcomes.
During my seven years of being a Manager, I have helped develop 4 members of my team who then progressed to Deputy or Managers. Encouraging my team to develop and grow always brings a smile to my face and I look forward to continuing this throughout my role as Regional Director.

At Cartref Croeso - Swanton Care, the people we support are encouraged to be as independent as possible with support from our care team to upskill and promote their individualism. This includes supporting those in our care to volunteer or work in the local community.
Our home is very diverse as every person at Cartref has different hobbies and interests; however, we always look to provide days out to local attractions or activities, such as bowling or the cinema.
We support people to enable them to lead a positive and fulfilling life to achieve personal goals and ambitions. We believe the happiness of the people we support is at the heart of everything, and ensuring we provide a person-centred approach allows the people we support to live their best life!
We received some great feedback in our last CIW report –
“People are treated with respect and care workers show genuine affection towards people living in Cartref Croeso”
