I joined Swanton Care in 2017 as they aligned to my own values. Throughout my career they have supported me to further my own goals and professional growth. Before joining, I spent 20 years within the social care sector, starting initially during my education. It was during this time that I knew which avenue I wanted to pursue.
I started as a support worker working with adults with a range of additional learning needs, autism, and mental health. I quickly progressed in my career with enthusiasm and a positive outlook- it was important for me and those around me to make a difference to the people we support. I have been a registered manager for 17 years now and love what I do. Every day is different and seeing people achieve positive outcomes is so rewarding.
I pride myself on leading a team who deliver a high-quality service and who are equally as passionate in providing a person-centred approach, supporting individuals to achieve their goals and aspirations.

I began working in Social Care sector since January 1996, this was soon after I finished my degree in BSc Behavioural sciences. I commenced employment as a support worker with a not-for-profit organisation working with adults with learning disabilities. This was during the time when Ely hospital in South Wales was in the process transitioning people from hospital to resettle in the community into supported living accommodation.
I continued my employment with the organisation, developing in my career with various roles across the organisation, working with different models of support including supported living, respite, community support and residential manager roles.
I have worked in senior management roles for the last 15 years mainly in operations and quality assurance. I have been a Registered Manager since 2014 with two providers in the last 27 years.
I am a trainer and been the organisational lead for person centred practise, ensuring that people supported live lives to their full potential and are encouraged to have greater choice and control. I feel passionate that people are at the forefront of their own support provision ensuring that the quality-of-service provision is exceptional.
I have recently joined Swanton Care as the Regional Director for South East Wales in August 2023 and look forward to working within this organisation to continue my career development supporting people and staff to reach their goals and aspirations.
