I joined Swanton Care and Community in 2023, bringing with me 20 years of expertise in the supported housing and social care field. My journey started in 2003 as a Support Worker, and through dedication and experience, I have progressed to the position of Registered Manager.
Equipped with a QFC 5 in management and leadership, I am a registered professional with Social Care Wales, adhering to their principles in all aspects of my work.
Throughout my journey, I have gained extensive experience in diverse areas such as learning disabilities, complex behaviour, Autism, mental health, and homelessness. My passion lies in enhancing the lives of individuals with Autism and learning disabilities through Positive Behaviour Support and Person-Centered Planning, with a focus on empowering them to achieve their goals.
I firmly believe that our colleagues play an instrumental role in our success, therefore I actively promote their development and growth. My enthusiasm thrives on continual learning through reflection, consistently identifying opportunities to showcase the talents of those we support.
I joined Swanton Care in September 2006 as a Support Worker at Maesteilo care home, since then I have gradually progressed through to Team Leader, Deputy Manager, Home Manager and most recently progressing to Regional Director of Wales in July 2022. Throughout my time with Swanton Care, they have supported me through my Level 3 and Level 5 Management qualification in Health and Social Care.
I have supported people with learning disabilities and autism for over 16 years, the knowledge and skills gained during this time is invaluable and has supported my progression through to my current role. My philosophy is to provide person-centred care that embraces safe and meaningful care for the people we support, encouraging growth and opportunity. I am a strong believer that working together works best, and working in partnership with the people we support brings more positive and meaningful outcomes.
During my seven years of being a Manager, I have helped develop 4 members of my team who then progressed to Deputy or Managers. Encouraging my team to develop and grow always brings a smile to my face and I look forward to continuing this throughout my role as Regional Director.

At Swanton Care and community West and South Wales, we always ensure we put the people we support at the centre of everything we do, we support inclusively with the person we support, listen, and respect their wants, needs and aspirations.
The people we support in their homes are supported in a person-centred way and our team is passionate about making a difference to their lives. We are continually promoting independence, with basic skills: such as cooking, cleaning, decorating their rooms and shopping or encouraging various new activities which they may not have had the opportunity to experience before, all whilst offering encouragement and celebrating success.
We strongly believe in a happy house and that the team should have a positive outlook on life, making life fun for everyone.
