Chrissy Braves The Shave In Memory Of Mum

Courageous Chrissy has chosen to ‘Brave The Shave’ to help raise money in memory of her mum.

Chrissy, who is supported at one of Swanton’s Shropshire services, wanted to participate in the fundraiser to show her support for Cancer Research.

Every year, people across the UK bravely agree to have their heads shaven to show solidarity with people living with a cancer diagnosis.

For Chrissy, who lost mum breast cancer, the cause is close to her heart.

Scheme Manager Stephanie East said that everyone at Swanton is cheering Chrissy on.

Stephanie said: “We think Chrissy is incredible – this is a huge thing to do to help fund cancer research.

“Chrissy spent a good week planning and looking at what challenges she could do to raise money for her chosen charity.

“It’s a daunting thing to do, but Chrissy makes us all proud and we are sure her mum is proudly watching over her.

“Knowing that she can make a difference in the lives of people who’ve got cancer means a lot to her.”

Chrissy will ‘Brave the Shave’ at the end of March and has already started getting donations to her online fundraiser. Visit the page here if you’d like to donate.

Every penny she collects will go towards life-saving research and support as Cancer Research UK strive to break new ground in cancer treatment.

Stephanie added: “There are few people whose lives haven’t been touched by cancer in some way.

“But not everybody is willing to shave their head to show their support for cancer patients and to raise money.

“We’re incredibly proud of Chrissy and will be cheering her on during the big shave. Bald is brave and bald is beautiful!”
