Footie Fan Joe Gets Back To Cardiff City FC

Cardiff City FC got one of their biggest fans back pitch-side this February when Joe made it to his first home match in months.

Joe, who is supported at Swanton’s Swn Y Nant service, is a season ticket holder but hasn’t been to see his team play for a while.

However, Joe’s support team were determined to put football fixtures back into his diary despite being a 40-minute drive from the stadium.

So they accompanied Joe to see The Bluebirds take on Preston FC at Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday 10th February.

Better still, Joe was able to meet up with his dad, who was also there to enjoy the match.

Service Manager Jennifer Jenkins said: “It’s brilliant to see Joe back where he belongs – cheering on the Bluebirds.

“He comes from Cardiff and used to go to every match with his dad but hasn’t been since he moved to Swn Y Nant last autumn.

“However, we’ve put that right, and Joe had a wonderful time meeting his dad and then watching the match.”

Although he lives in Ynysybwl now, Joe does keep up with his Cardiff-based social life.

His support team take him to Cardiff Strikers, his Sunday youth club and for plenty of visits to his family home.

In fact, Mum and Dad have been amazed by his progress since he moved into Swn Y Nant.

Jennifer added: “Joe is now doing his laundry and keeping his bedroom tidy, which left his mum gobsmacked!

“She and his dad were so happy to see Joe coming on brilliantly, and they are reassured that he’s quite happy to return to us after visits to their home.

“We send them lots of pictures so they can see the fun he’s having every day.

“As Mum said, ‘The pictures say it all – Joe is so happy!’”
