Joe Trusts Courtney To Be His Barber

The Old Vicarage was transformed into a barber’s shop this winter when Courtney put on a pamper evening for Joe.

Joe, who is supported at the service, can sometimes find it challenging to have his hair cut and beard trimmed.

However, Courtney – who has only been working at The Old Vicarage for nine months – has already forged a strong bond with Joe, and they are building great trust between them.

So, when she suggested that Joe could have a beard shave and his hair done in the comfort of his own home, a plan was put in place.

Deputy Leader Ellie Norton said she was incredibly proud of both Courtney and Joe for making the activity such a success.

Ellie said: “It’s been wonderful to see Courtney take on her work with such enthusiasm, and Joe has responded really well to her.

“There is no way he’d let just anybody cut his hair or trim his beard, but he trusts Courtney to be there to support him.

“By making a fuss of him with a pamper evening, Courtney was able to help Joe achieve a terrific outcome and look very smart.

“These steps are so important for Joe, and they will only serve to strengthen the fantastic bond the two of them share.

“Well done, Joe, for doing so well, and Courtney for providing such excellent support.”
