Kaye Aces Porthcawl Lifeboat Fundraising walk

A charity event to raise funds for Porthcawl’s RNLI service inspired Kaye from The Old Vicarage to get her walking boots on.

Kaye was among the intrepid walkers who did a 10k trek from Porthcawl Lifeboat station along the picturesque coastline. Bad weather stopped play on 1st May, the date the walk was supposed to happen, but the very next day, the walkers took off.

Service Manager, Naomi Davies, said Kaye did fantastically well and raised over £170 for RNLI Porthcawl. Naomi said:

“We’re so proud of Kaye for completing her walk and doing so well! She absolutely loves to be at the seaside, so this was the perfect event for her to get involved with. The next day, she couldn’t wait to tell all the support workers that she’d completed the walk, and she got tons of praise for her efforts. Kaye is an absolute star!”

The Porthcawl RNLI fundraising walk was attended by the lifeboat crew and local people and the fundraising will help the vital service which performs life-saving rescue missions on the coast.

Kaye is one of many people who spends quality time by the seaside in the summer months. So, keeping the RNLI funded is vital to her and others who use the public beauty spot.

“The RNLI is a terrific cause and close to our hearts. To be able to raise money to help them with the incredible work they do means a lot to Kaye and all of us.”
