A new medication flow chart designed to help support staff during critical decision-making has been described as a ‘phenomenal piece of work’.
Liayle Morgan, Deputy Manager at Supported Living Hull, has been praised by colleagues after devising an ingenious solution to help keep people supported safe.
The medication flow chart guides colleagues through every step of administering meds, giving them clear instructions at each decision point.
It helps to combat mistakes and build confidence, so Swanton’s Quality Assurance Team decided to make it part of the company-wide policy.
Self-confessed admin fan Liayle said he’s delighted by the response to the chart and feels gratified to have created something to make a difference.
Liayle said: “I love doing paperwork, and it’s really satisfying to create something that makes life easier for my colleagues.
“The flow chart reminds us of the checks we must make when giving medication and reduces the chance of errors.
“I’ve had wonderful feedback, and it’s great to know it’s keeping the people we support safe.”
Regional Director Lisa Warren said Liayle’s latest success story proved what an asset he is to Swanton.
Lisa said: “Liayle is innovative, and he’ll always think outside the box to get outstanding results.
“He goes out of his way to make people’s lives safer and to support his colleagues in their work.
“The medication flow chart is another example of his fantastic approach to care.”
