Maesteilo Mansion and Towyn Way Celebrate ‘Excellent’ Inspectorate Ratings

Congratulations are in order for two fantastic services in Wales after they both achieved an ‘Excellent’ rating from Care Inspectorate Wales.

Swanton’s Maesteilo Mansion in Llandeilo and Values In Care service Towyn Way in Pontypridd were both given the highest rating by inspectors.

The Care Inspectorate Wales began rolling out the new ‘silent’ ratings pilot in early 2023, and in April 2024, they will publish them officially.

Service Managers Nathan Greenwood from Maesteilo and Donna Nicholas from Towyn Way have said the ratings have delighted them and their teams.

Nathan said: “I’ve been grinning like a Cheshire cat – our ‘Excellent’ rating is a testament to the whole team.

“Our inspector told us that they don’t give out this rating lightly, and during their visit, we were told that we’d done really well.

“I was already thrilled when I thought we’d be getting a ‘Good’ rating, so to achieve ‘Excellent’ is even more exciting.”

Donna added: “I am beaming with pride for the achievement of the whole team here – it’s so important to us that we’re providing the best support we can.

“It came as a total surprise because I know everyone does an amazing job, but it’s so hard to get an ‘Excellent’ rating.

“We achieved top marks in two separate areas, and that’s amazing. I’m so proud of the team.

“Our priority is to give each person the best possible day and to make every moment matter. It was lovely to see that everyone’s hard work and dedication being recognised in this way.”
