The people supported at Seaham View and Baylis Place created colourful tributes for their VE Day celebrations – by making their own commemorative decorations.

At Baylis Place near Hull, the team helped the people they support to create special medals and poppies to place in the garden.

The crafting session also involved colouring in and there were some wonderful VE Day 75 pictures created during the activity.

Afterwards, the hand-painted poppies were ‘planted in the gardens’ and looked fantastic on display.

Meanwhile, the people supported at Seaham View put the posters they created and Union Jack flags around the front of their home and in the garden.

Everyone got out in the sun to enjoy a garden party complete with a buffet, music and games.

There was also dancing as staff and the people they support made the most of the lovely weather and joyful atmosphere.

Service Manager Dhiraj Rijhwani said that the home’s neighbours had complimented the team on their VE Day efforts.

Everyone agreed the celebrations had been first-class and had boosted the morale of both staff and team members during this challenging time.

Well done to both services for making such a fantastic effort to mark VE Day.
