Porthcawl Sunshine Lights Up Maes Y Bryn’s Bank Holiday Outing

Glorious sunshine and seaside fun gave people supported at Maes Y Bryn an Easter Monday to remember this year.

The group set off for a day trip to the coast as part of their bank holiday celebrations, and the weather did not disappoint.

Everybody was in great spirits as they arrived in Porthcawl and set out for a bracing walk along the beach.

During a fun-packed day, the support team made sure that everybody had plenty of fun.

Support Worker Abby O’Sullivan said it was the perfect bank holiday excursion.

Abby said: “We had a great time at the seaside and packed so much in.

“It was so lovely to feel the sun on our faces as we went to take a look at the lifeguard truck.

“The people we support were very interested in the truck and what the lifeguards do.

“We also had a lovely picnic on the beach – hopefully the first of many this year.”

It wasn’t just sand, sea and sandwiches, though, as the fun continued when the group hit Porthcawl’s funfair.

Abby added: “There were plenty of thrills at the fairground, and the people we support absolutely loved going on the rides.

“It felt like a traditional British bank holiday day out, and we made sure there was time for ice cream before we headed home.

“It was brilliant to have a day out all together and make the most of the sunshine. We can’t wait for our next trip to the coast.”
