Growing up with a neurodiverse sibling first inspired me to join health and social care, which I did in June 2008. I began my career with Swanton as a support worker, gradually progressing my career path and skills across multiple sites. At almost every appraisal, I would say I was content in my role, but the ever-innovative landscape of care and support for people with need always made me curious and determined that I could personally make a difference.
Working at every grade within our services has given me the skills and knowledge, professionally and personally, to be a better person, and by extension, provide better support to those who use our services, as well as those who work in our services.
Being able to support individuals to learn and have fun, enjoy life, be a tool for advocacy and a voice when the individual may otherwise have struggled, made me ever more determined to strive to make every moment matter.
I bring over 15 years of experience in the social care sector, having started my career as a support worker in 2009. Over the years, I have held various leadership roles, which have given me a deep understanding of both the challenges and rewards of delivering high-quality care.
I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with technology companies to develop assistive technologies, and most recently, I served as a Strategic Leader overseeing 130 services across residential, respite, domiciliary, and ISL provisions. My dedication to ensuring that care is personalised and tailored to each individual’s unique needs is central to my work, and I firmly believe that every voice matters and deserves to be heard.

Each person is supported by a trained and empathetic care team to take part in a program of activities that incorporates daily living skills such as money and communication skills, to hobbies and interests such as gardening and football. It is a core principle is to make every moment matter for those who not only use our services, but call All Saints there home.
Understanding a person’s history, their goals in life and speaking with families and friends means we can ensure that each person is empowered to live life they way they want – this includes being able to take risks; everyone has the human right to wake up on the wrong side of the bed!
