Eastholme – Swanton Care

Eastholme – Swanton Care, is a small, 4-bedroom, semi-detached residential home based in Seaham Co Durham. We even have our own private road, a few minutes’ walk from the seafront. The home is in a great location as it gives the people we support, privacy and the option of walking a short distance to the seafront which has many shops, ice cream parlours, cafes and restaurants. We also have fantastic travel links and are surrounded by plenty of natural nature reserves.

Meet our team

Terry Bayliss

Service Manager

I began my journey with Swanton Care around 2005 in South Wales joining the team of support workers, and straight away I knew there was something special about Swanton’s values around care and how person centred their Ethos was.

I relocated to the Northeast of England around 2008 where I have been a part of many service teams in different roles since 2009. Swanton Care have built a fantastic structure and Ethos which enabled me to be supported in my own progression from a support worker role to Mental Health First Aider, and then on to Team Leader/Deputy Manger to finally achieving the Position of Registered Manager of Eastholme in 2022.

We have a fantastic team here who all pull together to ensure the people we support have the best outcomes. With the internal and external agencies,  we PRIDE ourselves on providing the best support we can offer.

I look forward to being a part of the local community by integrating individuals into their local surroundings to ensure each and every one of the people we support at Eastholme have a meaningful, enjoyable life.

Dhiraj Rijhwani

Regional Director

I joined Swanton in 2017 as a service manager and worked with the team to expand supported living services as well as manage residential homes. In time, I became regional director for the North-East in 2021. I learned very early on in my career with Swanton that the company is very passionate about the people we support, their homes and enriching their quality of life, which aligns with my own values.

I moved to England from Mumbai, India, in 2005 for education which I continued to do for several years. During this time, I integrated with people from many countries and cultures, and this helped broaden my viewpoints massively. I firmly believe this helped me to embrace diversity and value varied inputs throughout my career, which I have been in since 2006.

I understand that being in a support environment can be difficult. Together, the team and I are here to help in empowering and supporting those in our care to feel safe and live the lives they wish to lead.

Tom Pick

Chief Operating Officer for England

I started my career as a Support Worker when I graduated university in 2004, progressing my way through Deputy Manager and Home Manager, eventually joining Swanton in 2018 working as a Locality Manager covering services in and around Hull.

I have successfully held registrations for, and worked in, a full range of services from Supported Living to challenging Residential homes.

I share Swanton Care’s passion for ensuring that the vulnerable people in our care have the best life and opportunities possible. I believe this is achieved by making sure the people we support have their voices heard and that our teams are appropriately trained ad supported to provide this care.

I feel privileged to work in such a rewarding sector with a fantastic team, I look forward to what the future will bring for the people we support and our organization.

About

At Eastholme – Swanton Care, we support 4 people with complex needs, autism, learning disabilities and epilepsy. We are always looking for new ways to empower them to be able to increase their independence, learn new skills and achieve their goals, all while making sure Every Moment Matters.

During our latest CQC inspection, we were rated ‘good’ in all areas of support. One very pleasing comment from a family member of a person we support said: “I have always said if I won the lottery, I’d still never find a place like Eastholme for my daughter as the support & care is amazing. This is why after 20 years, she is still a resident in Eastholme”.
