Blossom House - Courtyard Care, is a newly renovated four bedroom “home from home” located in Rushden. We specialise in supporting children with learning disabilities to ensure they receive the best quality of care. We promote and encourage independence and provide opportunities to grow and develop. We are a highly experienced team with extensive knowledge in understanding the children within our care.
Learning disabilities
I am the registered manager for Blossom House – Courtyard care, having previously supported in the care sector as a Senior Support Worker and Team Leader. Before moving into the care sector, I spent over 7 years in the educational sector working in a special educational needs school. I have brought my experience and knowledge with me, and I use this to support and guide my team. Whilst at the school I developed a passion for working with young people with learning difficulties, ASD, and behaviours that challenge.
I believe that all the young people we support should have a voice, be able to make choices for themselves, and that they are at the centre of all that we do in the home. We empower the young people to be independent and explore and discover new things that they enjoy. Over the last year that I have been manging blossom house I have enjoyed watching the young people in the home pushing themselves to reach their full potential and engaging in activates that they had previously not had the opportunity to do.
