Bluebell House is a brand new 6 bedded children’s home in Walsall, which provides support for children with a learning disability and/ or physical disability.
The home has a multitude of breakout spaces, including 2 activity rooms, a sensory room and two lounge spaces for if the children choose to have time alone. All bedrooms have en-suits and bedrooms will be personalised and decorated with the children’s voice being the centre on these decisions, upon admission.
Our aim is to ensure the children we will support will have their voice heard and acted upon, to enable them to live their best potential and outcomes.
Learning disabilities
I began my career more than 30 years ago as a night wake care worker in a complex care setting. Since then, I have built extensive operational and leadership experience across local authority children’s homes, independent advocacy, youth justice, family counselling, education, training delivery and health services.
Throughout my leadership roles, I have consistently focused on driving transformational change and strengthening quality, ensuring services create safe, stable and nurturing environments where children and young people can thrive.
As a counselling psychology graduate, I am particularly passionate about trauma-informed practice and understanding the impact of social inequity and inequality. I embed compassionate leadership and psychological safety into my work, supporting both the children and young people in our care and the dedicated teams who make high-quality care possible.

I joined Courtyard Care in October 2025 after more than 20 years in health and social care, progressing into management and leadership roles. Most of my experience has been within services for young people with complex needs, including learning disabilities and autism.
I hold qualifications in care, management, and therapeutic approaches, and I’m passionate about making a positive difference to young people’s lives — while having fun and celebrating great outcomes along the way.
It’s a privilege to work alongside residential teams, families, and professionals to help young people achieve their potential. I look forward to supporting managers in their professional development and continuing to create positive memories for every young person we support.
