Meet our team

Emma Tucker

Service Manager

I have over 20 years of experience within the Health and Social industry and over the years I have worked with individuals with learning disabilities, autism, dementia, behaviours that challenge and complex needs. I have been lucky enough to gain a wealth of experience supporting two homes in the Powys area for many years; joining Values in Care in 2014 to further progress in my career.

More recently I was successful in becoming Home Manager for both Maes y Bryn and Ty Cornel. I believe communication is key to empower everyone to make their own informed choices about their life and all aspects. We provide a range of communication aids which are tailored to each person’s support needs, to enable them to continuously develop and live their best life making their own decisions.

I strongly believe that the people we support can achieve their own goals and aspirations and it is our responsibility to help guide, support and provide opportunities to those in our care. It motivates me to see the positive outcomes that each person achieves.

Christopher Green

Regional Director

I joined Values in Care in February of 2012, being new to care and support I was keen to understand all of the training that I was being provided to ensure that I was delivering the best quality of care possible. This led me to further my career and start moving through the different roles such as Team Leader, Deputy Manager and Registered Manager. Whilst doing this, I complete both my Level 3 and 5 qualification in Social Care, my Trainers Qualification and become a Positive Behavioural Management Trainer. In recent years I was successful in the role of Operational Manager and this year I have been successful in procuring the role of Regional Director for Values in Care.

I have always been driven by the people we support and seeing the success and development in which they can achieve when the correct support is given. I believe this is developed by instilling good values within the team, and by fostering a great culture. Swanton Care has provided me with many opportunities, and I am passionate in ensuring these opportunities are available to all of our teams.

Kate Pearce

Chief Operating Officer for Scotland and Wales

I became a Chief Operating Officer in July 2022, prior to this I was Regional Director to Values in Care for 2 years. During my time in the social care sector, I have gained a wealth of experience, starting my career as a young Support Worker in 2003, progressing through roles such as Keyworker, Manager and Area Manager.

I have loved gaining qualifications along the way, including a Level 5 in Leadership and Management and an ILM Level 5 (The Institute of Leadership and Management), this has helped me to support the people in our care to have a better quality of life. I also have a keen interest in Positive Behavioural Support and am continuing my learning by undertaking a Diploma in this specialist area.

During my 19 years in the social care sector, I have always worked in complex homes for people with learning disabilities and autism, leading and directing teams to ensure we offer the best care possible to the people we support. Growing organically has ensured that I have great knowledge, experience and understanding in the care sector.

In my spare time I really enjoy horse riding, spending time with my family and pets.

About

The people we support at Ty Cornel – Values in Care are encouraged and supported to live an active and fulfilled life. Our relationship-centred care enables us to empower the people we support to explore new activities and create opportunities for themselves they may not have experienced previously.

At Ty Cornel the people we support receive the support and guidance to be independent and require skill teaching through active support.

Pleasing feedback from our recent CIW Report read:

“They offer a good quality service that supports people to achieve their preferred outcomes and supports their dignity and rights. The service promotes well-being through a familiar staff team providing person centred care. We found that people were involved in all aspects of their care and enjoyed a good rapport with staff who were skilled and supported in their role. People live in a pleasant, comfortable, and homely environment which meets their needs and supports them to maximise their independence”
