I joined Values in Care back in September 2009 as a support worker in one of the services local to where I live, before this I worked in Domiciliary care and have worked within the care sector for 25 years.
I loved supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, Challenging behaviour and additional needs, I knew this was the line of work that I wanted to progress in and develop my skills in order to provide the best possible care and outcomes for the people we support.
Working within Values in Care over the years has helped me to progress from a support worker to Acting Manager I have completed my Level 4 Diploma in Leadership and Management and I am currently working through my level 5. I am keen to develop further within the company, I am committed, enthusiastic and have a passion for what we provide as a company.
I began working in Social Care sector since January 1996, this was soon after I finished my degree in BSc Behavioural sciences. I commenced employment as a support worker with a not-for-profit organisation working with adults with learning disabilities. This was during the time when Ely hospital in South Wales was in the process transitioning people from hospital to resettle in the community into supported living accommodation.
I continued my employment with the organisation, developing in my career with various roles across the organisation, working with different models of support including supported living, respite, community support and residential manager roles.
I have worked in senior management roles for the last 15 years mainly in operations and quality assurance. I have been a Registered Manager since 2014 with two providers in the last 27 years.
I am a trainer and been the organisational lead for person centred practise, ensuring that people supported live lives to their full potential and are encouraged to have greater choice and control. I feel passionate that people are at the forefront of their own support provision ensuring that the quality-of-service provision is exceptional.
I have recently joined Swanton Care, Values in Care as the Regional Director in August 2023 and look forward to working within this organisation to continue my career development supporting people and staff to reach their goals and aspirations.

Pleasing feedback from our recent CIW Report read:
“They offer a good quality service that supports people to achieve their preferred outcomes and supports their dignity and rights. The service promotes well-being through a familiar staff team providing person centred care. We found that people were involved in all aspects of their care and enjoyed a good rapport with staff who were skilled and supported in their role. People live in a pleasant, comfortable, and homely environment which meets their needs and supports them to maximise their independence”
