Meet our team

Faye Hunter

Service Manager

I joined Swanton Community Care – Sunderland, in April 2017 as a Deputy Manager within Supported Living Services. I quickly progressed to Service Manager and then onto Registered Manager. With help from Swanton, I have completed my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management. I am also in the process of completing a degree apprenticeship in Occupational Therapy.

I have the drive and passion for delivering high quality services that are safe and meaningful to the people we support. Together, myself and the team will tailor the care and support provided so that there is a range of opportunities to choose from.

We love to have fun and fill the days with joy and laughter. My constant motivation is seeing the people we support happy, empowered and living the life they wish to lead as independently as possible.

Dhiraj Rijhwani

Divisional Director

I joined Swanton in 2017 as a service manager and worked with the team to expand supported living services as well as manage residential homes. In time, I became regional director for the North-East in 2021, and Divisional Director in 2024. I learned very early on in my career with Swanton that the company is very passionate about the people we support, their homes and enriching their quality of life, which aligns with my own values.

I moved to England from Mumbai, India, in 2005 for education which I continued to do for several years. During this time, I integrated with people from many countries and cultures, and this helped broaden my viewpoints massively. I firmly believe this helped me to embrace diversity and value varied inputs throughout my career, which I have been in since 2006.

I understand that being in a support environment can be difficult. Together, the team and I are here to help in empowering and supporting those in our care to feel safe and live the lives they wish to lead.

About

We support people with varying abilities and diagnosis, this includes challenging behaviour, autism and/or learning disabilities, as well as people who have mental health conditions. We understand the importance of a person-centred approach, and we thrive on supporting people to reach their goals and achieving as much independence as possible.

We are rated Good with CQC and are inspected by social workers and care coordinators frequently.

We love to support those in our care to have fun, explore the outdoors and learn new skills for life, as well as breathing in the fresh air. At Swanton Community Care – Sunderland, we encourage family and friends input, to help us ensure we are providing the best high-quality support for all.

A family member recently commented that their loved one is supported “Just as well as my mum would do.” when a family situation led them to need supported living services.
