Aaron Risker Wins Great British Care Awards Commendation

Support worker Aaron Risker is celebrating after being ‘highly commended’ by judges at the Great British Care Awards.

Aaron, who works at Swanton Community Support Sunderland, triumphed in the regional heats and came runner-up in the National Finals for the Support Worker Of The Year Award.

He was joined by fellow nominees from Swanton’s Eastcliffe service, who were finalists in the Home Care Team Award, and Anthony Risker from The Grove, who made the finals for the Co-Production Award,  as well as Divisional Director Dhiraj Rijhwani.

The glitzy event at the ICC Birmingham, which was hosted by national treasure Rylan.

The judges said: “[We] were thoroughly impressed by Aaron’s exceptional dedication and evident compassion.

“Despite only being in the role for a year, he consistently exceeds expectations, displaying a remarkable commitment to learning and growth.

“Aaron’s potential for the future is immense, and he is urged to continue his invaluable contributions to the sector.”

The evening was a wonderful celebration of people working in health and social care, and Dhiraj said that everybody was proud of Aaron’s success.

Dhiraj said: “It’s incredible that Aaron has only been doing this role for a year and has already achieved so much.

“His enthusiasm and drive are inspirational, and it was terrific to see him be recognised in this way.

“We all had a fantastic night at the Great British Care Awards and felt moved to be part of this remarkable sector.

“I want to say a huge well done to all our finalists who are the pride of Swanton – we’re proud of each and every one of you.”
