Pant Yr Odyn Support Worker Andrii Bykhovchenko is making a difference in his home nation of Ukraine by rallying people behind his charity drive.
Andrii, who moved to the UK with his wife when war broke out, is collecting parcels of clothing, shoes, towels and blankets to deliver personally to the war-torn country.
His colleagues at Pant Yr Odyn are doing what they can to help bolster his supplies by donating and sharing details of how to contribute across their social media channels.
Service Manager Marta Nowak said that Andrii’s volunteering is inspirational.
Marta said: “Andrii has a heart of gold and is determined to help the people facing such a desperate and terrifying time.
“There is a constant state of need in Ukraine, and Andrii still has family there. As his colleagues, we believe that we can do more if we do it together so we’re determined to help Andrii collect as much as possible.”
The generous team have been spreading the word and asking local people and other Swanton services to get involved.
They are organising collections where needed to ensure that every donation makes it’s way to Andrii and then the people of Ukraine.
Marta added: “Andrii has been home several times since the war started and he intends to take as much as he can there himself.
“These donations will make a difference to the people who are dealing with deprivation thanks to the ongoing war.
“We’re incredibly proud of Andrii for doing such important work and we hope to do everything we can to support him.
