Support staff at Baylis Place were recognised for their hard work and dedication this April by being nominated for the service’s Easter Raffle.
Service Manager Jenny Nicholas asked the team to nominate colleagues they thought had gone over and above in their roles for special raffle tickets.
Only those who’d received plaudits from staff were gifted tickets for the Easter draw, which saw Corrine, Kenny, Amy, and Elaine win delicious prizes.
Getting appreciation and recognition from their colleagues meant the world to the winners.
Jenny said: “We are incredibly fortunate to have a team at Baylis Place who routinely go over and above to make the lives of the people we support meaningful.
“We do have an ‘Employee of the Month’ scheme, but we wanted to find a way to recognise the efforts of several people at once.
“By getting their colleagues to nominate them, we also encouraged everyone to notice the good things going on here and to champion their co-workers.
“It created a lovely atmosphere at the service.”
Elaine was nominated for always having a listening ear, putting the people she supports first and being permanently patient.
Corrine was praised for showing initiative in her role as Team Leader, always listening to staff and doing lots of work on support plans and activities.
Meanwhile, Kenny – who joined Baylis Place’s night staff team five months ago – was complimented for fitting in well in his new role, making an effort to get to know the people he supports and being willing to help out with anything that needs doing.
Finally, after being in her role since 2022, Amy was recognised for growing in confidence, showing patience and going out of her way to give the people she supports individual attention.
Jenny added: “Seeing these people get the recognition they deserve was lovely.
“They were really pleased to have had such fantastic feedback from their co-workers.
“The gift bags included Easter Eggs, chocolates, hot chocolate and seasonal smellies, which were all very well received.“We’ll be doing more to recognise the hard work of the team over coming months.”
