Bluebell House Garden Party Brings Fun for All in Walsall!

Earlier this month, Bluebell House in Walsall hosted its much-anticipated Garden Party, organised by Registered Manager Leanne and the Bluebell team. The event was a huge success, bringing together the people we support, families, and team members for a day filled with fun, dancing, and community spirit.

The lovely sunny weather made the perfect backdrop for a day packed with activities, including giant games, a disco dome, face painting, and live music from talented singer Shannon Harvey. Guests also enjoyed plenty of tasty treats – from a hot food van and ice cream van to cakes and treat table, which featured some delicious home baking from the team themselves.

Adding to the excitement, everyone enjoyed a surprise visit from the firefighters at the local fire station, who came along to join the fun and spend time with guests.

A real highlight was the Petting Zoo and Animal Experiences with Nature’s Burrow Animal Encounters, where everyone had the chance to meet a variety of fascinating guests — including an owl, centipede, fluffy bunnies, and even a baby hedgehog – which proved hugely popular with children and adults alike.

The atmosphere throughout the day was fun and joyful, with smiles, laughter and togetherness shining through in every moment.

One parent who attended from another service, shared how impressed she was with the event and how pleased she felt to see her son enjoying himself and taking part in the fun. She told us how moving it was to watch him having so much fun with his sister and support staff — describing the experience as “groundbreaking” for her. She explained that it gave her peace of mind knowing her son was safe, welcomed and truly included, and she said she is already looking forward to attending the next Courtyard event.

Reflecting on the day, organiser Leanne said: “I’m so proud of how the whole team pulled together to make this happen. It was wonderful to see the children, families and team members enjoying themselves so much. The day was filled with fun, smiles and laughter, and it was lovely to hear such positive feedback from everyone who came along.”

Regional Manager Pete Hylton added: “The success of the Bluebell House Garden Party was down to the organisation and commitment of the whole team. It was fantastic to see managers and team members from across Courtyard come along and support, making it a real celebration of togetherness. The turnout was brilliant, and it was a proud moment for us all. Well done, Team Bluebell!

The Bluebell House Garden Party truly captured the spirit of summer and community, creating lasting memories for everyone involved. The day was truly one to remember— with lots of excitement already about making this an annual event.
