Celebrating Emmanuel’s Level 7 Success

An interview with Support Worker Emmanuel and Scheme Manager Rebecca

We’re proud to celebrate the achievements of Emmanuel, a Support Worker in our Community Services across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, who has successfully completed his Level 7 Diploma in Healthcare Management.

To mark this milestone, we spoke with Emmanuel and his line manager, Rebecca, about his journey, his motivation and what this achievement means for the service.

Why did you join Swanton Care?

Emmanuel: “I joined Swanton Care in 2022 as a support worker, driven by a strong desire to make a meaningful difference to people’s life.”

He explains that the role quickly became more than just a job — it became a purpose.

“The role challenged and shaped me both professionally and personally, teaching me patience, compassion, resilience, and the importance of person‑centred care. Each shift reaffirmed my passion for healthcare.”

What inspired you to take on the Level 7 Diploma?

Emmanuel: “I wanted to advance my knowledge and skills, so I set myself the goal of completing the Level 7 in Healthcare Management.”

Balancing study with full‑time work was demanding, but Emmanuel says the support around him made a huge difference.

“I felt encouraged to push beyond my limits, to believe in my abilities, and to keep striving for excellence. Achieving my Level 7 is one of my most satisfying accomplishments.”

He also shared heartfelt appreciation for the colleagues who championed his journey.

“I am deeply grateful to my management team, Susan and Zoe, for their unwavering support, guidance and belief in me. I truly appreciate the positive and supportive working environment that was created, which has enabled my professional growth and development. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully within the organisation.”

How has Emmanuel’s achievement impacted the service?

Rebecca, Scheme Manager: “Achieving a Level 7 qualification represents a significant milestone for both Emmanuel and the service because it formalises the leadership qualities he already demonstrates daily. For Emmanuel, it provides recognition of his professional growth, his commitment to high‑quality care, and his readiness to take on more advanced responsibilities. It will give him the theoretical knowledge and strategic understanding to complement his natural leadership ability.”

Rebecca says Emmanuel’s development strengthens the whole team:

“It adds a highly skilled, well‑qualified leader who already understands the people we support, the culture of the organisation and the demands of the role.”

And for her personally: “We are incredibly lucky to have Emmanuel on our team. His dedication, humility and unwavering commitment to the people we support make him an invaluable part of the service.”

How do you reflect on your journey so far?

Emmanuel:
“My journey with Swanton Care has provided a strong foundation for my continued growth and career in healthcare, and it is an experience I carry with pride.”

Emmanuel’s story is a powerful reminder of what dedication, belief and the right support can achieve.

Emmanuel’s achievement is not only a personal milestone but a reflection of what is possible when dedication meets opportunity. His journey embodies the values of Swanton Care & Community — empowering people to grow, excel and make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.

As we celebrate this outstanding accomplishment, we remain committed to supporting every colleague in reaching their full potential. Emmanuel’s story reminds us that with the right guidance, belief and learning environment, exceptional things can happen.

We couldn’t be prouder — and we look forward to seeing Emmanuel continue to thrive within Swanton Care & Community.
