Coffee Time At Sarah’s Place Signals A Giant Step Forward

The purchase of a coffee machine heralds a significant leap forward for Sarah as she’s started to make Holly Court her home.

Ever since moving into the Norfolk service, Sarah has not felt able to unpack or personalise her room, believing she may return to her old address.

However, thanks to her dedicated support team, who’ve built up a wonderfully positive relationship with Sarah, she’s begun settling in and exploring the local community.

Everyone was thrilled when coffee-lover and hot chocolate enthusiast Sarah decided to start purchasing items for her room and splashed out on a new Tassimo machine.

Holly Court House Manager Karen Riches said: “We are delighted that Sarah is starting to make her room her own, and the coffee machine is a fantastic sign that she’s feeling more comfortable here.

“As soon as she returned with her new purchase, Sarah asked for support to set it up and learn how to operate it.

“Sarah is gaining confidence from being able to make her own drinks and is planning to invite other people we support to stop by for a drink with her.

“She’s also suggested she may make one or two coffees for her support team if they play their cards right!”

The coffee machine purchase came hot on the heels of shopping Sarah did for soft furnishings.

She’s been enjoying trips to have meals in the community and then stopping by the shops afterwards.

Karen added: “It’s been gratifying to see how well the team have supported Sarah and gently encouraged her to personalise her space.

“Now, Sarah is at the stage where she’s keen to add her own touches to the room, and we hope she’ll continue to choose items she loves and bring even more of herself to it.

“These steps forward are so positive, and we’re excited to see where Sarah’s progress will take her in the coming months.”
