January got off to a flying start for Curt from Woodland Lodge when he crafted his very own bird box.
Curt, who is supported at the Pontypridd service, loves to visit The Hub to take part in plenty of different activities.
He’s a keen gardener and enjoys taking care of animals, including the resident tortoise.
But Curt’s favourite thing is DIY and using tools, so making the bird box was right up his street.
Service Manager Hannah Willcox said Curt had a great time learning a new skill.
Hannah said: “Curt absolutely loves DIY and anything that involves making things with tools.
“He’s also a big fan of animals and birds, so he was pleased to be able to make a special place for his feathered friends to feed.
“Curt got plenty of support from the talented instructors at The Hub, and the bird box he built is terrific.
“The plan is to put the bird box on the fence as you approach Curt’s home, so we can’t wait to see which birds come to visit.”
This is not the first time that Curt has enjoyed working on an activity that involved birdlife.
He was part of the team who hatched some eggs and then safely delivered the chicks up to the small holding’s shed.
Hannah added: “Curt is a very caring person and is wonderful with animals.
“It’ll be great to see what he turns his talent to next at The Hub – there are so many activities for him to try!”
