Superhero-loving Emily had a truly out of this world experience at this year’s Comicon in Swansea, earlier this year.
Emily, who lives at Nathan Street, is a huge fan of all things Comicon and has been to several events before with her family.
However, this time she wanted to fly solo, with the help of her support worker, and the day couldn’t have gone better.
Dressed up as Himiko Toga (student uniform) she had an action-packed day at Swansea Arena, and even met Carla Perez, who plays Rita Repulsa in The Power Rangers.
Team Leader Alanna Key, who attended Comicon with Emily, said it was a brilliant day.
She said: “Emily organized it herself; she had booked a hotel for the weekend with her Mum, purchased her tickets online and ordered the costumes she wanted to wear. She did a great job.
“The event was packed, and Emily felt completely in her element and was even asking others in full costume for photos together.
“There was a stand where the actors from the Power Rangers were signing autographs. Emily became a little star stuck when she saw Carla Perez, but she plucked up the courage and got a selfie and her autograph!”
And Emily loved the day so much she’s already booked the tickets for her next Comicon adventure, this time in Cardiff, later in the year.
