Emily’s Hosts a Magical Christmas Party for Children and Families

Emily’s House was transformed into a festive wonderland for a Christmas celebration that united children, families, and staff for an unforgettable day of joy and togetherness. From real reindeer in the car park to a grotto visit from Father Christmas, the event was filled with laughter and magical moments that truly captured the spirit of the season.

Interim Service Manager Victoria shared how the idea came to life: “We wanted to do something special for Christmas,” Victoria explained. “I started talking with one of our support workers, Leah, about throwing a party. We have a large open space, and then we thought—how magical would it be to have Father Christmas and his reindeer join us to wish the children a Merry Christmas?”

The idea quickly grew, and the party welcomed four of our other homes: Millies, Courtyard Care, Holly House, and Rowan House. Families joined in the fun too, along with staff’s children, making it a true community celebration.

The atmosphere on the day was described as “magical filled with laughter and fun.” One of the highlights was seeing real reindeer in the car park. “There were smiles all around,” Victoria recalled. “Seeing the children’s faces light up was incredible—pure magic.”

Father Christmas arrived with his reindeer and greeted the children before heading into the sensory room, which had been transformed into a grotto with fairy lights and Christmas music. He met each child one-on-one and handed them a gift, creating unforgettable memories.

The day was packed with creative activities, including:

Guests enjoyed a delicious spread of mince pies, sandwiches, pizzas, and fruit platters, ensuring there was something for everyone.

When asked what the children enjoyed most, Victoria said: “Being together. The lounge and garden were filled with children running around, playing, and doing crafts.”

Staff worked tirelessly to make the day special. “Leah and Naomi demonstrated incredible dedication to provide a variety of food and activities,” Victoria emphasized. “Key workers even made sure the children had lovely new outfits for the party.”

Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. “Everyone said they had a great time—it was magical and fun. Two social workers attended and were very complimentary about Courtyard Care and the experiences the children have with us.”

Victoria added: “A huge thank you to Courtyard Care for making such a magical party possible! The reindeer were a favourite for everyone and created a wonderful experience for all who attended.”

Regional Director Sam commented: “I’m incredibly proud of our colleagues for creating such a magical day. The care, creativity, and attention to detail shone through at every moment, and it made a real difference for the children and their families. Thank you to everyone involved—you’ve shown what compassionate support looks like.”

This event truly captured the spirit of Christmas—bringing joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories to the children and families we support. A heartfelt thank you and well done to everyone who made this celebration possible!
