There's plenty to celebrate at Glangarnant House in Wales, after the team achieved an ‘Excellent’ rating across all areas during a recent Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) inspection.
The report praised the team's dedication and compassion, while highlighting the welcoming atmosphere at Glangarnant House, the strong relationships built with the people they support, and the personalised support they provide every day.
Registered Manager Michelle said: "We are truly over the moon to receive such an amazing report. It means so much to us because we all share the same commitment to providing the very best support for the people who call Glangarnant their home.
"This achievement is a reflection of the hard work, compassion and commitment every member of our team brings each day."
A key theme throughout the report was the personalised support provided at the service. Reflecting Swanton's person-centred ethos, the team takes the time to understand each person's needs, preferences and goals, ensuring support is tailored to the things that are important to them.
From everyday routines to building new skills, support is designed around each person's aspirations and abilities. Whether it's encouraging someone to prepare breakfast, build confidence with household tasks or enjoy activities in their local community, the team works alongside people to help them develop independence at their own pace.
Another theme throughout the report was the positive culture at Glangarnant House. Michelle believes open communication, shared values and a supportive environment help create a place where both the people they support and the team can thrive.
"Communication is really important to us," Michelle said. "We always encourage open and honest conversations, and our door is always open. When our team feels supported, they're able to provide the very best support for the people who live here."
Strong relationships with families were also recognised during the inspection. Michelle says working in partnership with loved ones helps build trust, keeping families informed, involved and reassured about the support their relative receives.
One comment from the inspectors particularly stood out to Michelle: “One of the inspectors said they would happily choose Glangarnant House for their own loved one if they ever needed support."
Michelle added: "Hearing that made us incredibly proud of what we've created together."
Regional Director Kuba said: "This is a fantastic achievement for everyone at Glangarnant House. The result reflects the care, kindness and professionalism the team brings every day.
Across Swanton, we're committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support that helps people live fulfilling, independent lives. It's a pleasure to see the team's hard work recognised in this way. Congratulations to everyone on this well-deserved result."
While the inspection result is something to celebrate, Michelle says the team's focus remains exactly where it has always been – supporting people to live happy, healthy and fulfilling lives.
"We're so grateful for the trust families place in us and for the kind feedback they've shared over the years. I'm incredibly proud of every member of the team here. Their compassion, commitment and teamwork help make Glangarnant the welcoming home it is.
We'll continue working together to provide the very best support for the people we support, helping them to live fulfilling, independent lives and achieve the goals that matter most to them."
Congratulations to Michelle and the whole team at Glangarnant House on this fantastic CIW inspection result. Thank you for the care, kindness and support you provide every day, helping people to live fulfilling, independent lives.
