Regular music sessions are providing Lewis with a sensory experience that boosts his well-being.
Lewis, who is supported at Values In Care’s Maes Y Rhyddid service, is deaf and visually impaired and focuses on the touch and vibrations of the instruments.
Team Leader Ceri Ley said Lewis shows how much he enjoys the weekly sessions by laughing and smiling.
The evidence of their value in his life comes when Lewis independently chooses to do the activity on a regular basis.
Ceri said: “Lewis enjoys his music sessions as the sensory element of the activity really helps him.
“He chooses an instrument from the box and then explores how it feels before playing it and feeling the vibrations.
“It’s meaningful for us to be a part of these sessions with him as it gives us a chance to bond.
“I’m deaf too, so I experience the music sessions in the same way as Lewis does, so that’s a lovely activity for us to do together.
“It’s great to see Lewis getting so much from the music sessions and choosing to do them independently, so we know they are bringing him a lot of joy.”
