Gordon Revs Up For Mesmerising Motorsport Show

It was a fast and furious day out for Gordon this January when he attended his favourite event of the year – the Autosport International Show.

Each Christmas, Gordon’s parents buy him a gift ticket to the racing car spectacular, which is held at the Birmingham NEC arena.

Motorsport superfan Gordon looks forward to the big day out every year, and 2024 was no different as he and Support Worker Deb Norris boarded the train to Birmingham.

En route to the NEC, they stopped for a hearty breakfast before collecting their lanyards and hitting the exhibition halls.

According to Deb, it was a non-stop day of fun for Gordon, who loved every minute.

Deb said: “Gordon was so excited to go to the Autosport International Show, and he loves talking to people and asking loads of questions.

“When we arrived, we hit the merchandise stands in the exhibition hall as Gordon loves to shop.

“He was excited to spot the Ferrari stand and went over to talk to the guys about their team. Gordon charmed them with his chat and enthusiasm, and the kind Ferrari team members gave Gordon a notebook for free!”

Following their sweep of the merch tables, Gordon and Deb headed to the indoor arena for the thrilling live show.

The audience gets to enjoy a 45-minute adrenalin-fuelled experience that includes drifting, stunts, displays and feature races.

Deb said: “We had amazing seats, but Gordon gets a little nervous before the live show as it can be pretty loud.

“However, we got talking to a lovely man who told us he was the father of one of the Williams team and gave Gordon earplugs to help him. It was such a kind gesture, and Gordon really appreciated it.

“The live show was amazing, and Gordon absolutely loved it.”

There was still time for shopping after the show, so Deb and Gordon hit the stands again.

Gordon purchased a Ferrari hoodie and a canvas, which is now hanging in his hallway.

He also spent time chatting to the police, who had a stand at the show and made Gordon an offer he couldn’t resist.

Deb added: “Gordon was invited to sit in the driving seat of the police car!

“The officers were terrific and answered all his questions, so Gordon was beaming from ear to ear.

“It’s experiences like this that are the reason that I love my job. It is wonderful to go to the show with Gordon each year and see him light up.

“It was another unforgettable day out, and Gordon is already excited about the 2025 show!”
