There were wonderful celebrations for Team Green Gables as they celebrated 20 years since the service opened at a fun-packed party.
Service Manager Hannah Wilcox and her colleagues arranged a bash at the local Tondu Cricket Club, where friends, family and people supported at other local services joined the festivities.
Amazingly, Paul and Chris, who live at Green Gables, have been at the service since it opened in 2004.
So, it was special for them to mark such a major milestone for the service.
Hannah said: “We are all very proud to mark Green Gables’ 20th anniversary, a service that’s gone from strength to strength.
“I think the secret to our longevity is the dedication of our team, who are so committed to helping the people we support to develop new skills and making Green Gables a truly homely environment.
“We’re lucky to be in a beautiful part of the world and to have the countryside on our doorstep, which helps boost the wellbeing of everyone here.
“The people we support love sensory activities, and we’ve got a great activity room to facilitate that.”
At the party in nearby Bridgend, revellers enjoyed a disco and buffet, plus the chance to pose with a special balloon decoration to mark 20 years.
Hannah said: “Now we’ve reached 20, I’m excited to see where the next two decades will take us.
“We can promise that Team Green Gables will do everything we can to keep the people we support at the heart of our work.”
