Halloween Bash Thrills Thanks To Charity Raffle Success

There was nothing ghastly about Support Living North East’s Halloween bash this year – thanks to the tremendous success of their charity raffle.

People supported in the region got together at Sunderland MIND for a Halloween disco and buffet event.

Ghouls, zombies, witches and clowns were in attendance as the party kicked off, complete with a DJ set full of wickedly catching pop classics.

However, the big moment came when the people we support were invited to pick out the winning tickets for a bumper charity raffle in aid of mental health initiatives.

Raffle organiser Steph Alexander said she was thrilled to have raised a grand total of £690 for The Betsy Jenny Wellness Café in Sunderland and therapy dog training for a puppy.

Steph said: “The Halloween event was the perfect opportunity to get the people we support involved in the raffle.

“Thanks to the incredibly hard work of Collette Cooper and her team, the party was a huge success, and the atmosphere was fantastic.

“We’d managed to collect a massive number of prizes to raffle off, and we asked the people we support to pick the winning tickets.

“It was amazing to find out we’d raised so much money for two great causes.”

As well as raffle winners, prizes were also handed out to the best dancer and the best costume at the party.

The people supported were invited to try toffee apple and cake decorating and had lots of tasty treats from the buffet.

The venue was perfect as there was the main room for the disco and dancing, plus a quiet area for partygoers to relax and do crafts if the noise got too much.

Steph said: “The people we support had an amazing time and loved every minute.

“Collette and her team did a great job bringing us all together, and many of the staff hit the dancefloor with the revellers.

“I want to thank everyone who helped on the day and those who donated raffle prizes.

“We’re thrilled to have made so much money that will go to these excellent causes.”
