Heather’s TV Passion Helps Bring Drama Project Henry House to Life

We’re incredibly proud of Heather, who’s supported through our Community Services in Telford, for playing a vital role in the creation and continued development of Henry House — a new care home-set TV drama that’s already gaining national attention.

Heather, who lives with cerebral palsy, has always dreamed of becoming an actor. Like many, she once believed her disability might stand in the way. That changed when she connected with Rocking Horse Media, the team behind Henry House — a drama committed to inclusive casting and authentic storytelling.

Not only did Heather take part in the production, filming a scene alongside Emmerdale favourite Liam Fox, she also stepped up when the project faced an unexpected hurdle. After a cast injury meant the pilot had to be reshot, Heather launched a fundraiser to help keep the show on track.

Inspired by her determination and the values at the heart of the drama, we proudly made an additional donation to help the show continue.

“It’s been incredible to see Heather’s passion support this project,” said Zoe Carter, SCS Telford’s Peripatetic Care Manager.

Swanton Care and Community is proud to have donated to this important project, which shines a light on the value of lived experience and inclusion in creative industries.

“This is exactly the kind of initiative we’re proud to support,” said Gary Thompson, CEO of Swanton Care. “It’s about recognising talent, raising voices, and making space for people to shape the stories being told.”

The team behind the show are preparing to pitch it to TV networks, following its endorsements, with the hope it is commissioned to become a full drama series- watch this space!

At Swanton, we believe in the power of every individual to influence change. Heather’s involvement is a wonderful example of what can happen when people are encouraged to share their passions and be part of something bigger- We couldn’t be prouder!
