Music lover Jason* has been lighting up Holly House with his fabulous pop star performances in regular karaoke sessions.
As a massive fan of chart-topping stars, young Jason has been getting his groove on by singing their hits and doing the dance moves.
Recently, support staff captured Jason in action in an awesome video performance of the classic Steps hit ‘Tragedy’.
According to Deputy Manager Deborah Cleverly, the youngster is never happier than with a microphone in his hand.
Deborah said: “It’s been brilliant to see Jason doing what he loves best – being a pop star!
“He knows all the words and moves to some absolute bangers, and the staff here love to join in.
“We have a karaoke microphone set, which is perfect for Jason to belt out his favourite hits.
“It’s the perfect way for Jason to express himself.”
For Jason’s support team, music is a great help with their communication with him.
If he’s finding it a challenge to communicate, music can help Jason to convey his mood by showing he is happy through his singing.
He also uses music to interact with the team at Holly House, and when he discovers staff members like specific songs, he’ll learn the lyrics and music so he can sing the tracks to them.
According to Deborah, the team are looking into ways for Jason to develop his interest in music and learn new skills.
She explained: “We hope to set Jason up with singing and music lessons soon.
“We’re also looking at getting him a keyboard so he can learn to play and sing.
“Music brings such joy to Jason’s life, and we’ll do whatever we can to encourage his interest and help him become an accomplished musician.”
