Pubgoers Joe and Robbie from Bramble Cottage faced serious disappointment when they heard their local was closing until they found the perfect replacement.
For the lads, the news that their favourite drinking establishment, The Wingfield in Llanbradach, was shutting down came as a shock after many happy times there.
After hearing the news, the search was on to find a new pub where they could enjoy their social time.
Happily, it wasn’t long until they chanced upon The Rowan Tree in nearby Nelson, which had the potential to become their new fave.
So, the only thing left was to visit The Rowan Tree and see if it made the grade.
Service Manager Joanne Bryant said: “Joe and Robbie really enjoy their visits to the pub, so it was such a shame when The Wingfield closed down.
“That’s why we are thrilled that they had such a good time at The Rowan Tree on their first visit.
“According to our support team, the vibe in the pub was really relaxing and positive, and they had classics on the jukebox that the boys both enjoyed.
“They also had some board games, which staff encouraged Joe to have a go with.
“It turns out he’s ace at Connect 4, so there’s likely to be plenty more games of that in his future!”
