Jordan Plants A Rose In Memory Of His Late Mum

A beautiful yellow rose will flower this summer at Ger Y Nant in memory of Jordan’s mum, Sharon.

Jordan, who is supported at the service, sadly lost his mum at the end of last year, and his support team have been thinking of ways to help him remember her.

They felt that by planting a yellow rose that he can feed, water and tend to, Jordan would have a special connection to his mum’s memory.

Service Manager Maria Parker said: “Jordan and his mum Sharon had an amazing relationship, and she had a massive input into his life.

“They’d do lots of activities together, like swimming, going for lunch and home visits.

“Everyone here at Ger Y Nant was close to Sharon, too, so it’s a huge loss for everyone.”

Since Sharon’s passing, the team have been in discussions with Jordan’s brother and social worker about how best to support him in processing the sad news.

Maria added: “When we’re a little further down the line, we’re hoping Jordan can make a memory box.

“We want to support Jordan to fill the box with precious things that remind him of Sharon and the wonderful times they had together.”
