It’s not every day that you get to hand-feed a penguin, but Marky’s dream came true recently thanks to his dedicated Support Team.
For a long time, Marky – who is supported at Maesteilo Mansions – has wanted to get up close to the adorable birds and on a recent holiday, he finally got the chance.
Keyworker Natasha supported Marky in booking a holiday to North Wales and discovered that a local attraction offered a penguin experience.
She realised this was her chance to help Marky achieve a bucket list moment and have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Service Manager Nathan Greenwood said: “What an experience – we’re so thrilled that Marky could fulfil this dream.
“Not only did Marky get to meet penguins, but he also got to hand-feed them too!
“This is an excellent achievement for Marky and fantastic work from Natasha and Reese, who supported him on the trip too.”
The happy holiday visit didn’t just involve penguins - the group also visited local areas of amusement, a museum and also a pottery barn.
Natasha said, “I was worried as Mark is known to be quite afraid of some animals, however, he wasn’t afraid of them at all and loved it.
I’m so happy. We had a lovely time away and seeing him achieve this goal was the icing on the cake!”
